Tenet and J. Cofer Black, his counterterrorism deputy, were SO CONCERNED OF A PENDING TERRORIST ATTACK that they personally drove to the White House to call an emergency meeting with Condoleeza Rice.
They were blown off.

Condoleeza Rice responded to Bill Clinton’s accusation that the Bush administration did nothing to pursue Al Queda after gaining office today. She said that the Administration did at least as much as more as Clinton. And that the 911 Commission’s report supports this…
Not if you take the 911 Commissions statements made by Bush and Cheney.
Taliban claims Bin Laden is still alive

Dubai-based Al Arabiya television on Tuesday quoted a Taliban official as saying al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was alive and in good health.
The Arabic channel said its Pakistan bureau had received a call from the unnamed Taliban official a few days after a leaked French secret document said Saudi intelligence believed bin Laden died last month in Pakistan.
“The official said bin Laden was alive and that reports that he is ill are not true,” said Bakr Atyani, Al Arabiya’s Islamabad correspondent. “The Taliban checked with members who are close to al Qaeda that these reports are baseless.”
Valerie Plame was Working on Iran and Nuclear Non-Proliferation

According this article at Raw Story the CIA agent outed by the White House (maybe Dick Cheney?) was working on monitoring Iranian nuke development.
“…..that her outing resulted in “severe” damage to her team and significantly hampered the CIA’s ability to monitor nuclear proliferation.”
Speculation - maybe there’s more to her outing than we know.
“Several intelligence officials described the damage in terms of how long it would take for the agency to recover. According to their own assessment, the CIA would be impaired for up to “ten years” in its capacity to adequately monitor nuclear proliferation on the level of efficiency and accuracy it had prior to the White House leak of Plame Wilson’s identity.”
Why would the White House want to restrict its ability to see the inside of their program? Maybe they’d rather tell us what about the intelligence they want rather than letting the experts handle it.
